Stone's Serenity: You are immune to the frightened condition.

Maddening Whispers: You hear whispers in your mind, imposing disadvantage on concentration checks.

Gem 2

Elemental Fury: You gain resistance to cold damage.

Elemental Vulnerability: You gain vulnerability cold damage.

Gem 3

Healing Touch: You can cast Cure Wounds once per day without requiring components.

Corruption of the Void: You can't regain hit points through magical healing.

Sir Rufus's Gem

-Blazing Weaponry: Sir Rufus can imbue any melee weapon he wields with searing heat as a bonus action, causing it to deal an additional 1d10 fire damage on a hit. This effect lasts for 1 minute and can be activated three times per day.

- **Fiery Aura:** Whenever Sir Rufus is engaged in combat, his body emanates intense heat. Any creature that hits him with a melee attack while within 5 feet of him takes 1d10 fire damage.

**Artifact Drawback:**

- **Curse of the Ember Shard:** The gem’s power feeds on and amplifies Sir Rufus’s negative emotions. Each time he uses one of the gem's powers, he must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or suffer from an increase in hostility and cruelty. On a failed save, he gains the following effects for the next 24 hours:

- **Wrathful Outburst:** Sir Rufus's temper becomes short, and he may react with disproportionate anger to minor irritations. During this time, he has disadvantage on any Charisma (Persuasion) checks and advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) checks.

- **Cruel Impulses:** The gem’s influence warps his perception of others' suffering, making him more likely to engage in cruel and sadistic behavior. Sir Rufus must succeed on a DC 10 Wisdom saving throw to resist taking actions that cause unnecessary pain or distress to others, especially when such actions offer no tactical advantage.

- Taint of Evil: The corruption of the gem makes Sir Rufus more susceptible to evil influences. He has disadvantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened by evil-aligned creatures or spells.
